Scuba Diving in Protaras

If you are planning a dive trip to Cyprus then Scuba Diving in Protaras is a must.

We routinely undertake a number of shore dives in Protaras, all year round. If you would like to find out more then please get in contact.

Roman Harbour Dive Site

This is one of my favourite dive sites, although there is a bit of rough off-roading to get there.  Crystal clear waters with a long trench at 10m awaits divers. A wide variety of marine species inhabit the trench including fang toothed moray eels and turtles. For training this site is great for Navigation Dives. This is definitely a must if you are Scuba Diving in Protaras

Cyclops Cave Dive Site

The site has something to offer divers of all experience levels. In the shallows it has stunning topography with huge boulders, rocks, seagrass and sand. Following the “Ski Slope” takes you down past 40m making it ideal for Deep Dives. As this is a great dive site it can get busy during summer weekends so get there early.

Greenbay Dive Site

This is shallow dive site excellent for beginners or those looking to undertake check dives. The site has an abundance of marine species as well as some underwater statues. As this is a fun and easily accessible dive site it can get very busy, so getting there early is a must.

Octopus Dive Site

In between Roman Harbour and Cyclops Cave Dive Site is Octopus Reef. This shallow dive site is ideal for navigation and night dives. It is certainly worth a dive especially if other sites are busy.

The site is located close to the south east of the Peninsula, just past the national park tourist centre.  Crystal clear waters with a number of stunning swim throughs await divers. This is definitely a must if you are Scuba Diving in Cape Greco

Antennas Dive Site

If you drive to the far end of the Cape Greco Peninsula then you will get to the Antennas dive site. This dive site has a number of steep walls and boulders to explore – definitely a must as well. The access points tends to have a lot waves so if conditions are calm then definitely dive this site.

Chapel Dive Site

This dive site is adjacent to Ayioi Anargiroi ChapelThe site is accessed by a cave which makes for some stunning photographs.

Canyon Dive Site

An absolutely amazing dive site! From the shore this is accessed firstly by some off-road driving, then a couple of steep ladders. The challenging access is certainly worth it.  Steep walls and large boulders lead divers down to 20m where they then get to explore the depths.

Diving in Cyprus FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Diving in Cyprus

Curious about what diving in Cyprus is like? Want to learn more? Well then please consult our FAQ page to learn more or reach out to the team.

Haie Zypern

PADI Eco Center, Cyprus Diving Adventures, Diving in Cyprus

Protecting Our Marine Environment

As the 2nd Dive Shop in Cyprus to be certified as PADI Eco Centre we strive to to safeguard the splendour and diversity of the marine environment. At Cyprus Diving Adventures, we are dedicated to nurturing the delicate marine ecosystems through sustainable practices and responsible initiatives by taking the PADI Save the Ocean Pledge.

Protecting the Marine Environment

We demonstrate our commitment by actively participating in the PADI Aware Adopt the Blue Program. We have adopted two dive sites (Cynthiana East and West) that we regularly dive at, monitor and undertake ocean clean ups so please let us know if you want to participate in one. We report our clean up activities with the PADI Dive Against Debris and Green Fins initiatives.

Providing Education

For all our beginner courses we offer a discounted eco option to help new divers understand the importance of protecting the marine environment whilst earning an additional PADI qualification. For certified divers we offer PADI environmental Specialities including Underwater Naturalist, Fish Identification and PADI AWARE Dive against Debris. Please contact us if you want to.

Enhancing Diver Ability – Code of Conduct

We all abide by safety protocols to have a fun dive, but at Cyprus Diving adventures we also follow protocols to help you protect the marine environment both on your current dive as well as future dives. As members of the Green Fins initiative we promote their Code of Conduct. Remember, we’ve got a “hands-off” policy down there – no underwater high-fives or fishy handshakes! And no feeding the fish, they’re on a diet! We only wear gloves during cold water or wreck dives. Leaving trash around is a big no-no, even cigarettes! No paparazzi strobe lights for our underwater celebrities, they need their beauty sleep! And please, no poking or prodding marine life with muck sticks – they’re not into it! Stay buoyant like a boss and steer clear of the bottom so not to kick up sediment. As you may have guessed we don’t support spearfishing, as we want more fish for us to see! Listen to the briefings and make sure you do your safety checks before getting in the water. Remember if you get separated from the group, search for for 1minute before ascending – they will do the same so you will be reunited soon. And, of course, always wear your regulator and keep your mask on – until you are out of the water or on the boat – we’re stylish till the very end! If you are going to use sun protection then please remember this HAS to be bee reef safe. Remember, we’re all about fun, so we will provide mentoring (underwater and in debriefings) on how to improve, but mess with the rules, and we’ll show you the exit.
