The PADI Advanced Open Water course is the next certification level from the Open Water course and consists of 5 different dives. It is a very popular course in Cyprus due to the diving available and at Cyprus Diving Adventures we ensure the very best dive experiences possible. Dives are to a maximum depth of 30m and this is built up over the 5 dives depending on previous experience.
This is also a great course to refresh your diving skills, learn more from an experienced Instructor and further improve as a diver. The course is more about quality dive time and we even complete the last 2 dives on the world famous Zenobia wreck.
If you haven't dived for a while and need a part or full refresher then you can complete this prior to the main dives of the course. This is an ideal way to get back in the water and to dive under the continual guidance of an experienced Instructor, this will make you a better diver and further refine your diving skills.
For the theory part of the course there is a short section to read from each Adventure Dive you choose and a few knowledge review questions to complete. With the online eLearning version we will send you the link so you can complete it before you arrive in Cyprus or with the paperback Advanced Open Water Diver manual when you get here as the theory does not take long to complete
Apart from that the Advanced Open Water course is all diving ! There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, These include photography, buoyancy control, exploring wrecks and many more, for a total of five dives.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
Cyprus is an ideal location to satisfy all types of dives available from the course.
