12.06.21 SOME VERY POSITIVE NEWS FOR TRAVELLERS FROM THE CYPRIOT AUTHORITIES;
FROM April 2021 the Cypriot authorities have announced a number of measures which are expected to further boost the interest of airline companies to carry out additional flights to Cyprus, improve connectivity and increase passenger traffic.
There are ongoing discussions with the main tourism countries for easier and safer entry to Cyprus with new categorisations of companies depending on their data.
Theses categorisations are as follows;
Category A will be replaced by the ‘Green Category’, this will be for vaccinated individuals for which there will be no restrictions.
Category B will be replaced by the ‘Orange Category’, which will require a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival.
Category C will be replaced by the ‘Red Category’, which will require the PCR test within 72 hours of arrival and another upon arrival in Cyprus.
No isolation measures in Cyprus apply in any of these categories.
12.06.21 UK visitors are now fully allowed to enter Cyprus from 17th May 2021 with no quarantine on arrival. The UK has made Cyprus an Amber category country which means tests and a period of 5 day self isolation on return to the UK with a test.
With Cyprus now having vaccinated almost 60% of the population and looking to have completed 65-70% during June, we fully expect Cyprus to go into the GREEN category for UK visitors on the next review. New cases in Cyprus are also now very low and testing remains the highest in Europe with a very small positivity rate.
New daily positive cases this week are down to around 50.
The categories above are in line with the guidelines of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Countries including the United Kingdom, EU countries, Switzerland, countries on the European Council’s list of third countries, Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Lebanon, UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Belarus will be classified in the Green, Orange and Red categories for the summer season and as their individual situation improves.
Developments by country are expected to be announced further during June and July as the situation progresses.
12.06.21 As new cases have decreased and the number of vaccines continue to increase by the day Cyprus is now completely out of lockdown. The normal distancing and maximum numbers for certain activities are in place but generally Cyprus is fully open.
Almost 60% of the population of Cyprus have now received a first vaccination. This is expected to be over 65% in June. Numbers of cases in Cyprus, which have never been high anyway, have plummeted in the last 4 weeks.
All working staff are tested on a weekly basis and Cyprus is completing up to 60,000 tests per day which is the highest % per population in Europe.
Diving and Dive boats have been allowed to operate again fully.
Both the airports in Cyprus are fully open.

The Dive Centre and our equipment are fully cleaned, serviced and fully sanitized in line with local, European and National Diving authority guidelines in relation to COVID-19 including DAN Europe. There are also specific guidelines to follow in relation to sanitizing equipment after each use, with particular attention to regulators, suits, masks, snorkels and BCD’s. Post lockdown a maximum of 6 people at a time are allowed in the Dive Centre with distancing also in operation. Self disinfecting products are readily available with regular temperature checks and the use of masks also readily available.
