Diving in Paphos.

Cyprus Diving Adventures offers diving to all of the best diving sites across Cyprus. One of the areas where there is a concentration of these sites is in the Paphos and Coral Bay district.

With it's rocky coastline diving in Paphos offers a variety of dive sites to suit all levels from beginners to experienced divers, and it is also a great area for dive training. The Paphos dive sites offer a range of different dive sites with their own range of depths, difficulty levels and points of interest.

The Cynthiana and St Georges Hotel are ideal for beginners who want to try diving for the first time or taking their entry level Open Water diver course. They are also used for divers who haven't dived for a while to refresh their skills and to get them back in the water or as a check dive.

The Cynthiana is a great dive site offering a number of different dive routes and has some of the best marine life off the shore in Cyprus. This dive site is used for first experience dives but it also has a lot to offer divers of all experience levels. With depths up to 20m there are 2 large reefs, swim throughs, gullies, walls, overhangs and a range of different landscapes to explore. The Cynthiana is also one of the most regular places for spotting turtles on dives and is an annual territorial area for a number of greens and loggerheads.

For those doing more advanced courses and for divers of all experience levels there are many more excellent dive sites to choose from. Pistol Bay, the Ampitheatre, the Stage, Dinosaur Bay, Coralia, Sea Caves and the Channel are just a few along the Paphos and Coral Bay coast with depths ranging from 6 to 30 metres. Each have been naturally eroded and shaped by the sea to form some of the most beautiful dives in Cyprus. There are also a number of islands to dive which are stunning including the fantastic Manajin Island and Geronimos (St Georges) Island, these are for mid range experienced divers and above. Geronimos is also used by technical divers too with depths up to 50m. Slightly further up the coast is Copo Island and we are still exploring this very exciting dive site.

Due to the rocky coastline of Paphos and the waters dropping off quicker than in most parts of Cyprus, these dive sites have developed amazing topography. With caves, caverns, swim throughs, arches, tunnels, blow holes, walls and other fantastic natural formations Paphos has a range of fascinating dives for those that love beautiful underwater features. On many dives we find ancient amphorae and anchors with pots and vases in good condition. Each time you see these on dives you are reminded of the ancient history of Cyprus.

There are also a number of excellent wrecks to explore diving in the Paphos area with the Laboe, Vera K and Achilleas among the most popular. These wrecks are now artificial marine reserves, so along with the interest of the wreck there is also some of the best concentrations of marine life living on or around them too.

Marine life on all of the dive sites is abundant and varied depending on where you dive. Regularly we see Groupers, Wrasses, Sea Breams, Sea Cucumbers, Barracuda, Jacks, Turtles, Sea Stars, Blennies, Rays, Anenomes, Nudibranchs, Damselfish, Pufferfish, Octopus, Squid, Cuttlefish, Sea Slugs, Slipper Lobster and so much more.
