The half a day Discover Scuba Diving experience programme is designed for people from the age of 10 who want to try scuba diving for the first time.
A similar experience is available for 8-9 year olds and is called Bubblemaker.

Discover Scuba Diving covers basic knowledge on the equipment, some basic theory and then goes on to practice in shallow water. Once you are ready we then move into open water for a dive in the warm, crystal clear, blue waters of Cyprus. Depths are from 2m to 12m depending on your comfort level and as you gain in confidence during the dive.
We have the very best conditions and locations to ensure our divers get the most from this amazing holiday experience. We also highly recommend a follow up open water dive on the same day to enjoy the experience even more and to help cement the skills and knowledge learned during the first dive.
Discover Scuba Diving is suitable for all age groups, for divers who haven’t dived for a long period, and is an excellent taster for those thinking of doing the full Open Water Course.
Padi Open Water Course
Learn to dive with the PADI Open Water Course. Both this and the Scuba Diver sub-course are the first courses to fully qualify you as a Diver.
The Open Water Course is the most popular diving course in the world and takes you from a beginner to being a fully qualified diver to a maximum depth of 18 metres. The course is completed over 3 to 4 days.
This is your first course as a new diver and therefore is a very important one. At Cyprus Diving Adventures our experienced Instructors will ensure that you are trained to the very best standard and in a friendly manner. We want you to fully learn the key skills required to ensure you enjoy many years of great diving and continually be able to improve your ability. Safety is also a top priority during our courses.
The Open Water Diver course consists mainly of;
- A knowledge development section where you complete the theory side of the course
- A number of confined water sessions where you practice all the required skills and learn to dive.
- 4 open water dives to further develop your diving skills and complete 4 actual dives.
The courses knowledge development sections can be completed in a number of ways to suit your own preference. There is the hard copy manual and DVD version which you can study here or preferably we can send it to your home for you to complete in your own time and before you come to Cyprus so saving valuable holiday time. The online eLearning option is also readily available and we send you the link via email to also complete this at home. There is no extra charge for either of these options.
When you arrive at the Dive Centre with the completed course work we will then just need a few hours to go over this with you and complete your 200m swim. You are then ready to start your in water training which then only requires a further 3 days to complete the course.
You can use the Padi elearning link below or sign up direct via the PADI website but we highly recommend sending you the link which will save you money. The eLearning version completes all the theory online and we will be tracking your progress. Please be sure to select the correct Dive Centre, our 5 Star Dive Centre number is S-23471. This version completes all of the theory, videos and final exam in your own time and so again saves valuable holiday time. Your inwater training is then completed with us over 3 days.
There is a cost difference with the online version if you sign up direct with PADI. You have to pay Padi a fee of over €150.00 initially when you enrol direct online, but we unlike most Dive Centres reduce the course fee by €80 to €345 if you do this. Therefore when choosing to sign up direct through PADI the overall cost to you would amount to an extra €80 approx to the course fee which PADI retains.
